Barrel Selection Chardonnay 2023
Nougat, white nectarine and meyer lemon. Focus, intensity and balance. In 2023, we had a cool growing season that produced exceptional wines across all varieties. Harvested from multiple blocks on the Napoleone Vineyard, including older plantings of clones 76 and 95 and more recent plantings of P58 and Mendoza clones, this chardonnay was fermented naturally in French oak (35% new, all puncheons). Lees were stirred (battonage) regularly to build texture and complexity. We selected the best chardonnay parcels (seven barrels) to blend this elegant yet powerful, complex fruit-focused wine with great drive and tense acidity.
