“Amusing narrative on the back labels of these wines. You’ll have to read them to find out: I don’t feel much like typing. This is Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris (30%). Raised in old wood, with perky faced winemaker Tim Shand offering “No finings, no acid adds, coarse filtered, SO2 only pre-bottling. Bone dry, high pH (therefore best to drink cold)”. I drank it fairly warm.
I do enjoy a rosé that’s not too acidic and lays on the powdery textural stuff. This is that. Has a little funkiness, brine, subtle spice, fresh strawberry, maybe some rosy perfume. Feels smooth and fleshy, despite being a light bodied wine, with interesting flavours and texture, and maybe not the most convincing finish, but gee it makes you go back to the glass pretty quickly. Super to drink. Feels and tastes great.”
